About kcore.org...kcore.org was created for several reasons: I needed a new place to put up some software I wrote, some projects I was busy with, and because I needed new email adresses, in the vain hope of keeping them free of spam. (so far, so good) The NameThe name itself is derived from the /proc/kcore file which can be found in e.g. GNU/Linux systems. (I have no idea if it exists in other UNIX derived systems). It contains the in-memory image of the Linux kernel. The only reason I took the name was because I thought it sounds cool, and a friend advised me to take this one. And it also sounds cool for non-geek persons. I hope. The MissionUuh... mission... What mission? The ProductThe product... is what you see here before you. A website, dynamically generated using several home-written and reusable php modules. They might even be up for download later on, I have no idea yet. This website is made up of the following modules:
Banners - v1.9
Captcha - v1.0 Categories - v1.2 Database - v1.13 EmailSender - v1.3 Guestbook - v3.2 Links - v1.0 Menu - v1.39 Module Registry - v1.7 SpamBlock - v1.1 SubMenu - v1.39 UBBCode - v1.1 Weblog - v1.24 The HostingThese pages are hosted by OVH. I recommend them, they're quite fast, stable, and cheap for what they offer :) CreditsIcons were taken from the Conectiva Crystal SVG 0.6 icon theme that comes with KDE 3.1 Software usedCreation: It was tested with Opera, Konqueror, Mozilla and Internet Explorer |
